Credit BureauClick Here to View Your Credit Report from All 3 Credit Bureaus A credit bureau is an agency that collects and sells people’s credit history and personal information. This information is purchased by lenders such as banks, credit card companies, mortgage and auto lenders when they are considering granting an individual for credit or a loan. The information provided to lenders is what is known as your credit report and your credit score. A credit bureau is also referred to as a credit reporting agency. Equifax, Trans Union and Experian are the three major credit agencies in the United States. These agencies do not make any decisions on the approval of an individuals request for credit, they only provide the credit information to the potential lenders. Since the different credit bureaus work independently from one another, the information reported by one agency will more than likely differ from the information provided from another agency. This is because not all creditors use the same credit bureau when reporting information on their consumers. When a lender is considering you for a loan request, you never know what bureau they will use to pull your credit report. It is important to know what is on your credit report before you apply for your next loan or credit card. Many consumers have found that their credit reports provided from at least one if not all three of the major national agencies contained errors and false information. This is why it is very important to check the accuracy of your credit
report from each individual credit bureau often.
